A Digression

During a recent thunderstorm, I had a memory from the past.

I was in the bathroom of my old gym, reapplying some makeup after my (strenuous) workout. A couple of women were in the hot tub behind me. All of a sudden I picked up the thread of their conversation.

"There's nothing I like better than relaxing in my outdoor hot tub with a glass of wine during a thunderstorm!' declared Woman Number One.

"Oh, me too. Its so much fun, all the drama," said Woman Number Two.

This was a private conversation to be sure, but I turned around anyway and said, "Don't you realize that being in water during a thunderstorm is incredibly dangerous? You could be killed by lighting."

No worries here. "Oh, it's okay. The hot tub is surrounded by very tall trees, so we're perfectly safe," Woman Number One replied.

Well, rest in peace, ladies, rest in peace.
